CFI delivers accurate biodiversity datasets from your trail camera footage — no infrastructure, no hassle. We're solving the bottleneck between raw data collection and actionable biodiversity insight, using AI to make conservation faster, cheaper, and more scalable.
What We Do
We use AI to automatically analyze trail camera footage — detecting species, counting individuals, estimating size, and extracting key data points like timestamps and GPS coordinates when available. The result: structured, ready-to-use biodiversity datasets delivered in CSV, JSON, or through our API.
No need to change your gear. CFI works with your existing trail cameras, out of the box.
How It Works
Every frame is analyzed for wildlife presence. Species are identified automatically with calibrated confidence scores, separating animals from empty triggers, vehicles, and humans.
Individual counts and size estimates are extracted from each detection. Every data point is time-stamped and geotagged when coordinates are available.
Results arrive as clean, searchable datasets — in CSV, JSON, or through our API — ready for analysis in R, Python, or any ecological toolchain. No reformatting needed.
Our system integrates species detection, individual counts, and size estimation in a seamless, low-latency architecture that can run in the cloud or offline — wherever your work takes you.
Training & Methodology
Through collaboration with biologists, research institutions, and conservation teams, we continually refine and expand our models. Each image in our training set is reviewed and labeled by specialists who understand species traits, behaviors, and regional variation.
These expert-curated annotations form the foundation of our AI. The models learn to detect wildlife, count individuals, estimate sizes, and differentiate species — even in difficult lighting, weather, or motion conditions. This human-in-the-loop approach ensures our system isn't just fast — it's accurate and trustworthy in real-world conditions.
Your data stays yours. Every organization decides what happens with their footage — including whether it can be used to train our models or not. We process and return results; we don't retain, share, or repurpose anything without explicit consent.
We build tools, not data traps.
Use Cases
Uncover hidden patterns in wildlife behavior by transforming unstructured footage into time-stamped, location-aware datasets that reveal movement, interactions, and seasonal trends.
Track biodiversity shifts over time using consistent, structured outputs that make it possible to monitor species declines, migrations, or climate-related changes at scale.
Empower conservation teams with better data by replacing manual photo reviews with real-time, species-level insights — freeing up resources for action on the ground.
Our Mission
CFI is a tool for accelerating ecological discovery. Our mission is to empower science with clean, consistent, and collaborative data — so researchers can spend less time sorting, and more time discovering.
