RC planes, in your browser.

Openflight is a free RC plane simulator. Take off from a grass strip or the lake, fly the valley and land on the water, all in a browser tab.

Every plane flies on its own physics.

Each aircraft flies on its own flight model, built from its real span, weight and control surfaces. Automated tests hold it to reference data.

One flight, off the water and up the valley.

A floatplane on the lake. Every frame is from that one flight, and every number was logged as it flew.

  1. T+0:04

The yellow floatplane taxiing slowly on the lake, sunlight on the water, the valley behind.

    SPD1.3 m/sALTon the water

    Taxi

A little throttle and the floats push through the water at walking pace: 1.3 m/s.

  2. T+0:08

The floatplane just off the water, nose high, floats clear of the lake, a cliff behind.

    SPD16.8 m/sALT2.2 m

    Lift off

The wing takes the weight and the floats leave the water, nose up: 16.8 m/s, 2.2 m up.

  3. T+0:16

The floatplane climbing away from the lake over meadows toward the valley and its snowy peaks.

    SPD19.8 m/sALT30 m

    Valley

It climbs out over the shore and up the valley, between the cliffs: 19.8 m/s, 30 m up.

Alone, or with other pilots.

Learn to fly
Short lessons in order, from the first takeoff to racing your ghost. Stabilised mode first, then Acro.
Free flight and tracks
Every plane, free in the valley. Or build a track of your own and fly its gates against the clock.
Rooms
Track Day, Catch the Ace!, Trick Battle and Streamer Combat, with other pilots and voice chat if you turn it on. In races, computer-flown pilots fill the grid to four and make way for any person who joins before the start.
Getting in
With your radio, a gamepad, or keyboard and mouse, in English or Spanish. You sign in with Google, and your progress follows you to any computer.
Guides
Three guides for new pilots, written from the same flight model: your first flight, stalls and spins, and landing.

Go fly.

Openflight is free and runs in your browser. It is part of OpenFieldRC, our flight simulators.
